Only in Israel Problem? Only in Israel Solution...

Everyone loves to come to Israel and ride camels. They are cute. They are funny. They are furry. They are fun to name [though nobody has ever beaten Alexander Camelton, though shoutout to Camela Anderson, Mark and Dorothy Camel, Camel Newton, Camela Harris and Camella Duchess of Cornwall]. They are also not something you would ever want to run into with your car...

You see if you live in the West and hit a deer when you drive, your car gets dented and the deer goes flying. In Israel, if you hit a camel, you get dented and the car goes flying. An adult male deer weighs 300 pounds (136kg). An adult dromedary camel weighs between 660-1320 pounds (300-600kg). And camels like to wander around the desert and have yet to master crossing the road only on green and at designated crosswalks. Fortunately, this only occurs a few times a year, but it's enough of an issue that I have seen organized protests about this issue. Well now, there may be a unique Israeli solution to what is [almost] an only in Israel problem.

According to my good friends at

Stand With Us...

"Ayman El-Sayed and Yoav Ludmer have teamed up to develop solar-powered transmitters that monitor wandering farm animals and camels in Israel's Negev to help drivers avoid car accidents in the area."

Yasher Koach and Mabruk to you guys. Now if only we could figure out a (non-corona) way to remove Israeli drivers from the roads.... Oh wait, we have that. It's called Mobileye, which Intel bought for $15.3 billion to bring driverless technology to the world. Now I get it....
