The buzz around Israel is that we may be heading light-years away. It's not enough that last year we became the 7th country to land a craft on the moon (albeit a crash-landing), but Israel now has set their eyes on something much further away.
Researchers at the famed Weizmann Institute of Science - a common stop on my Israel tech tour - are working with the Israel Space Agency to send a craft to Triton, Neptune's largest moon. NASA has recently cut down 22 proposals to just 4, and the Israeli proposal "Trident" made the cut. In the end two projects will be chosen with the launch date set for 2026 - and the arrival only in 2038.
