As a tour guide of Israel who leads an Israel tech tour, I get great pride when startups that I have taken my clients to end up making it big. And it appears that one of them - the Israeli gaming company Playtika - is about to do just that. They are looking to float the company in NY in an IPO (initial public-offering) at a valuation of about $10 billion.

You may know that they were bought in 2016 for $4.4 billion dollars - one of Israel's biggest exits ever - by a consortium including Ali Baba founder Jack Ma. You may just know them from one of their mobile games (they have 30 million active monthly users).

Meanwhile, 6 companies in Israel surpassed a $2 billion valuation... during this crazy year. Last year the number of Israeli unicorns - companies with $1 billion valuations - doubled, which put us in 4th place in the world - and that's not per capita. Now some of these companies have become double unicorns, if that can even be a thing.... It's all part of the trend of scaling up as opposed to starting up (and exiting).
