It has been known for years that Israel is the world's leader in medical cannabis research.
Well now that research can come to you, literally. That's right, just before the bell tolled on the previous Israel government, the outgoing Economy Minister gave the final approval for the export of medical cannabis products, an industry expected to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. There are 8 companies creating it in Israel, including the aptly named "Tikkun Olam" (fixing the world). Here is a segment on CNN from 4 years ago discussing the state of medical cannabis (and predictions for 2020) and the possibility of it becoming Israel's next great export. Well, that day has now arrived. As an Israel tour guide, I may need to get this on my next Israel tech tour....
