SUNDAY: Free Online Seminar on the Golan Heights
Updated: May 31
One of my favorite places to visit as a tour guide of Israel is the Golan Heights. It is full of fantastic nature, hiking, history, wine, archaeology, security, Bible, battles, food, culture and more. This Sunday, in commemoration of the liberation of the Golan in the Six-Day War 53 years ago, there will be 3 wonderful lectures online. Many of you may remember visiting Tel Saki and learning about the battle there during the Yom Kippur War (and perhaps doing an escape room in the bunker) with the fantastic Yaakov Selavan - he will be giving the first talk about the strategic nature of the Golan both past and present. If you know me, though, I'm most excited about the virtual wine tour (though it all looks great). Finally, we will hear about some of the ancient Jewish connections to the Golan. It is a great lineup and opportunity not to miss.
