The City of David has just released a truly fantastic video on the building of the Temple in Jerusalem by King Herod. As a bonus, it features a number of the professors from my tour guide course. It goes through the history, design, construction and more. It is absolutely worth taking the time to learn more about what was the greatest temple complex in the Roman world, the holiest spot in the Jewish world where it is believed the world was created from, an architectural ode to peace and brotherly love, and a "house of prayer for all nations" situated where the heavens touch the earth. It's the next best thing to coming on a tour with your resident tour guide of Israel, to see it in person yourself.
